I am college student in the Metro-Detroit area that has a love for the Red Wings. My devotion to the Wings started when I was just a kid while watching them with my parents. As the years went by I grew into the fan I am today. I make sure to get myself to several games a year. I even have my own superstitions and have started my own play off traditions. My inspiration for creating blog comes from the love I have for the Wings.
A personal goal I have set for myself is to see the Wings play at home against every NHL team. Currently I have seen the Wings play half of those teams.
My all-time favorite Red Wing is Steve Yzerman. I grew up watching Yzerman making one amazing play after another. I am very honored to say that I have a framed autographed jersey of his.
My current favorite Red Wing is Jiri Hudler. The first moment I saw him, I knew that there was something about him. I picked him as my fav before he started his first game as a Red Wing and my love for him grew that season. I stuck with him even when he left for the KHL last year and I am still behind him in his rough return to the Wings. I hope that he always makes Hockeytown his home.
I have had several great Red Wing experiences from going to games, in both the regular season and the playoffs, to Red Wing viewing parties, to parades. One of my favorite events that I attend is the annual Toast of Hockeytown. It’s a fundraiser wine tasting that allows you to meet the players and get autographs! My Red Wings experiences have been some of the greatest times of my life and I look forward every year for what may come.
