Wings Viewing Party

Over Christmas break, my boyfriend and I had the chance to go to one of the Red Wings Viewing Parties at the Sound Board in Motor City Casino.

Big Screens
We were showered with free stuff immediately after we got in. We were given a free hat to start off with.

The room was filled with people and several big screen tv's to watch the game on. There was a buffet of pizza's and nearby bars were open serving pop and beer.  Not to mention there were  interactive games to be played, with of course more FREE stuff.

Slap Shot Simulation Game
The games included a shoot out game on the play station, a slap shot simulation game, and an old fashioned stick and ball hockey game.

We received a bunch of free stuff from playing all the game including a Red Wings calendar,  car flag, and a poster! They also gave away pom-poms and shirts!

Viewing Party Stage
There were also  photo opportunities with the zamboni.
During intermissions they selected random fans in the crowd to play trivia. Winners won prizes including jerseys and tickets to upcoming Red Wing games!

Autographs and Pictures with Maltby!
My favorite part of the night was meeting Kirk Maltby! He was there signing autographs and taking pictures with all the fans!

Even though this wasn't my first time meeting him, it was still fun and a great part of the night. We had him autograph pictures we had previously taken with him!

This was a great Red Wings event. I would recommend this to  anyone who likes the Red Wings and wants to have to have a good time for FREE!

Draper Drought Ends

Kris Draper made his season debut at the Dec 4th game at L.A. against the Kings and Chris Osgood return home to the net.

Draper had been out suffering from a groin injury that occurred during the first day of training camp. The injury advanced into a sports hernia which required surgery. Osgood also returned to the net after he had been out for 13 games due to a pulled groin.

Draper saw little ice time in his first game back, a precautionary decision by Coach Babcock to help him get eased back into the game.

Osgood made 22 saves but ultimately the Wings were defeated 3-2 in overtime.
